Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most from energy traders, risk managers, and operations leaders.
PLATFORM
Risk360 — Electric
What ISOs and electric markets does Risk360 support? ▼
All major U.S. ISOs — PJM, ERCOT, NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, SPP, and CAISO. We handle day-ahead and real-time markets, ancillary services, bilateral contracts, and REC tracking. If you operate in an electric market, we can connect to it.
What type of data is required to get started with Risk360? ▼
Risk360 works with whatever data you already have. We integrate with your ETRM, metering systems, market data feeds, and weather services. If you don't have a specific data source, we can help you identify alternatives or connect you with providers. Our onboarding team maps out exactly what you need — it's typically a 2-4 week process depending on complexity.
How does load forecasting work? ▼
Our load forecasting models account for weather, customer behavior, historical usage patterns, and market conditions. Models are calibrated to your specific portfolio — not generic industry curves. We provide both short-term (day-ahead, intra-day) and long-term forecasts with 94-97% accuracy depending on the utility and forecast horizon. Automated daily refresh with manual override capability.
What is shadow settlements and how does Margin Analytics work? ▼
Real settlement costs arrive days after the trade. By then, you're reacting, not deciding. Risk360's ISO shadow settlements show you market reality as it unfolds — basis movements, congestion patterns, weather impacts — before they appear in your settlement. You get daily pre-settlement cost forecasts to the dollar, component-level attribution (load variance, position variance, settlement variance), and early detection of abnormal days before they impact your margin.
How does Risk360 handle position and hedge management? ▼
Risk360 provides real-time tracking of your entire electric portfolio across ISOs and commodity types — open positions, hedge ratios, and exposure in one view. You see your risk before the market moves, not after. Hedge tracking covers trade capture through settlement reconciliation, with automated confirmations and counterparty management.
What reporting does Risk360 provide? ▼
Real-time dashboards and on-demand reports. We also offer scheduled reports — daily, weekly, monthly — customized to your needs. P&L reports, position reports, settlement reconciliations, regulatory filings, VaR reports, and more. All configurable through the platform. Executive reporting packages are also available for management and board-level audiences.
Does Risk360 integrate with my existing ETRM? ▼
Yes. We have deep integrations with major ETRMs, market data vendors, metering systems, and weather services. We also expose APIs for custom integrations. Risk360 complements what you've already built — it doesn't replace your existing systems. During onboarding, our technical team maps out the exact integration approach for your stack.
PLATFORM
Risk360 — Natural Gas
What gas markets and pipelines does Risk360 support? ▼
Risk360 covers natural gas markets across the U.S. — major pipelines, storage facilities, and delivery points. We handle nominations, balancing, WACOGS tracking, and gas pool pricing across your entire gas portfolio.
How does Risk360 handle gas nominations? ▼
Gas nominations aren't a button press — it's a daily juggling act of pipeline constraints, demand forecasts, price signals, storage dynamics, and regulatory timelines. Risk360 provides the position management, storage tracking, and analytics layer that supports nomination decisions. If you want experienced operators making those nominations for you, that's where our Expert Gas Services team comes in.
What is WACOGS and how does Risk360 track it? ▼
WACOGS — Weighted Average Cost of Gas — is the blended cost of your gas supply across all sources. Risk360 tracks WACOGS in real time across your supply chain, giving you transparency into what you're actually paying per therm. You can see cost breakdowns by pipeline, supplier, and delivery point, and identify where margin is at risk before the invoice arrives.
Can Risk360 help with gas imbalance penalties? ▼
Absolutely. Risk360 monitors pipeline imbalances daily and provides the analytics you need to make proactive adjustments. Our platform tracks nominations against actuals in real time so you can catch drift before it becomes a penalty event. Combined with our Gas Services team, some customers have eliminated imbalance penalties entirely.
Does Risk360 support both electric and gas in one platform? ▼
Yes. Risk360 is a unified platform for both electric and gas operations. You manage your entire book of business — electric positions, gas positions, hedges, P&L — in one place. Multi-tenant architecture means you can manage multiple entities, ISOs, and pipelines without switching between systems.
SERVICES
Managed Services
What does "managed services" actually mean? ▼
Our managed services team operates inside Risk360 as an extension of your team. Traders, schedulers, gas experts, and data analysts — 200+ years of combined experience — handling day-to-day operations: scheduling, nominations, position management, settlements, compliance, and reporting. Not a help desk. A partnership.
Do I need Risk360 to use your managed services? ▼
Our managed services team operates inside Risk360, so the platform is the foundation. That said, we can work with you to integrate Risk360 alongside your existing systems if you're not ready for a full platform migration. The goal is to get our team operating effectively for you — we'll figure out the technology path together.
What's the difference between electric services and gas services? ▼
Electric services cover scheduling, procurement, settlement reconciliation, load forecasting, and REC management across ISOs. Gas services cover nominations, balancing, pipeline optimization, WACOGS management, and imbalance avoidance. Different markets, different expertise, same operational philosophy. You can use one or both.
What regulatory filings do you handle? ▼
RPS reporting, FERC EQR quarterly filings, retail supplier filings, state-specific compliance requirements, and license renewals. Every jurisdiction has its own rules — our compliance team stays current on all of them. We also provide audit support and documentation when regulators come knocking.
What financial reporting do your managed services include? ▼
Component-level P&L analysis, journal entries mapped to your chart of accounts, margin reporting, and management/board reporting packages. Daily, weekly, and monthly cadences customized to your business. Every number explained, every dollar tracked — so finance and operations are always aligned.
What hours does your operations team cover? ▼
24/7 operational coverage, 365 days a year. Energy markets don't take weekends off, and neither do we. Our gas services team is standing by every day for nomination cycles, and our electric team covers real-time scheduling and exception management around the clock.
INTELLIGENCE
ennrgy.ai — Intelligence Products
What is ennrgy.ai and how does it relate to ennrgy.com? ▼
ennrgy.ai is the intelligence division of ennrgy.com. It's where our AI-powered products live — built on the Risk360 data layer but designed for a different purpose: decision support for humans (Intel products) and automated dispatch for assets (Optimizer products). Same company, same data foundation, different mission.
What is Headroom Intel? ▼
Headroom Intel is a competitive positioning and margin opportunity tool for retail energy traders. It shows you where you have pricing headroom, scores prospects based on margin potential and competitive density, and surfaces opportunities in real time — without spreadsheets. Think of it as your market radar for where to compete and where to walk away. It's live today.
What is Battery Optimizer? ▼
Battery Optimizer automates charge/discharge scheduling, state-of-charge management, and economic dispatch for battery storage assets. It's manufacturer agnostic — works across any hardware stack. Market-aware dispatch decisions based on price signals, ancillary service opportunities, and grid conditions. It's live today.
Are you offering price forecasts? ▼
We don't publish price forecasts (that's a liability we're happy to avoid). But our Market & Price Signals product — coming soon — will surface market anomalies and pricing dynamics your traders should be paying attention to. Headroom Intel already identifies margins and opportunities in real time based on competitive positioning and market conditions.
What intelligence products are coming next? ▼
Risk Intel (anomaly detection and exposure alerts for your book of business), Market & Price Signals (predictive market intelligence and weather/regulatory triggers), and Data Center Power (load prediction and procurement optimization for data center operations). All are in development and built on the same Risk360 data layer as Headroom Intel and Battery Optimizer.
Do I need Risk360 to use the intelligence products? ▼
The intelligence products are built on the Risk360 data layer, so they work best when connected to your operational data inside Risk360. That said, some products (like Headroom Intel) can operate with market data alone. We'll work with you to determine the right approach based on what data you already have.
General
What is ennrgy.com's pricing methodology? ▼
We price based on the scope of your deployment — the number of load points, the number of suppliers you serve, the ISOs you operate in, and the services you use. Some customers start with Risk360 Platform and add Managed Services as they scale. Others come in with full services from day one. It's modular. Reach out to discuss what makes sense for your business.
Can I purchase services a la carte? ▼
Completely a la carte. Many customers start with just the Risk360 Platform. Others want Risk360 + our Managed Services. Some layer in Intelligence products on top. You choose the combination that makes sense for your operations. We grow with you.
How long does onboarding take? ▼
Typical onboarding is 2-6 weeks depending on the scope of your deployment and the complexity of your existing systems. Platform-only deployments are faster. Full platform + managed services + integrations take a bit longer. Our onboarding team handles the heavy lifting — data mapping, system integration, and training — so your team can focus on running the business.
What kind of support do you provide after go-live? ▼
If you're on managed services, your support is built in — our team is operating inside your systems every day. For platform-only customers, we provide dedicated support with direct access to our team. No ticket queues, no call centers. You talk to energy people who understand what you're asking and why it matters.
How secure is my data? ▼
Risk360 is a cloud-native SaaS platform with enterprise-grade security — encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access controls, audit logging on every action, and geographically distributed disaster recovery. Multi-tenant architecture includes logical data isolation so your books stay your books. Regular DR testing and automated failover ensure business continuity.
