announces readiness to support NERC Policy 3 and new
WECC business practices

to comply with the revised NERC Policy 3 requirements
that will be implemented by December 19, 2003, as well
as its commitment to meet new business practices
outlined by the Western Electricity Coordinating Council

The
NERC Policy 3 revision requires the Electronic Tagging
system to be the primary tool used to communicate
emergency modifications to Interchange Transactions, to
make the transaction adjustment process quicker and more
efficient. The WECC Business Practices are being
designed to make E-Tag the primary method for
communicating Interchange Scheduling Information.
SoftSmiths’

having operators enter deal and schedule data twice,
