SoftSmiths delivers Automation of Short Term Redirects to Bonneville Power Administration

Houston, TX. – September 15, 2003 – Today, SoftSmiths announced the delivery of automation of Short Term Reservation Requests and Short Term Redirects to Bonneville Power Administration - Transmission Business Line (BPAT), providing transmission customers the ability to reserve Short Term Firm (STF) transmission services, and Short Term Firm Redirects (STFR) of Short- and Long- Term transmission service on an automated basis. SoftSmiths delivers critical e-Business solutions and services that enable energy industry participants to enhance profitability and reliability in the competitive marketplace.

Transmission Customers will be able to enter STF Reservations and STF Redirects via their Northwest OASIS node. SoftSmiths' e-Wheel application will interact with the OASIS, perform validation checks, and process each OASIS request according to its requirements (capacity and duration) for the requested services and the availability of transmission capacity (ATC) on the requested path. Subsequently, e-Wheel will update the status of the request (e.g. invalid, refused, accepted, counter offer), and transmit the updated transaction back to OASIS. Customers will then be able to confirm or withdraw accepted or counteroffered requests.
