SoftSmiths Successfully Deploys California ISO ADS Interface

Houston, TX. – March 11, 2009 – SoftSmiths, Inc., a leading energy software solutions and services company, today reported the successful deployment of an automated interface to the California Independent System Operator's (CAISO) Automated Dispatch System (ADS) to process award instructions and enable Real-Time schedulers to enter and submit their acknowledgements. The ADS interface is an add-on functionality for customers of SoftSmiths' integrated CAISO market participant solution - SoftSmiths Power and SoftSmiths Market-CAISO - that have hourly pre-dispatched resources. 

The ADS is an application developed by CAISO to communicate real-time dispatch instructions to Market Participants. SoftSmiths Market-CAISO connects to the CAISO ADS server and downloads instructions as they are published. When those instructions are awards, SoftSmiths Power will update the real time operational profile for the generation resource. In addition, a sale to CAISO will be created to record the award of energy sale to the Market Participant. When instructions are pre-dispatch alerts, SoftSmiths Power will display an acknowledgement dialog for Real-Time schedulers to acknowledge that alert by either approving or denying it.
