SoftSmiths' Announces additional EMSLink Interface

Houston, TX. – February 5, 2008 – SoftSmiths, Inc., a leading energy software solutions and services company, today announced an addition to its EMSLink product with an interface to the Survalent Technology Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.

SoftSmiths EMSLink is part of its SoftSmiths e-Link family of Application Programming Interfaces (API), and provides seamless integration between 3rd party Energy Management Systems (EMS) / SCADA systems and the SoftSmiths energy trading and scheduling application suites. EMSLink provides net scheduled interchange data in the required format to EMS/SCADA systems for use in Automatic Generation Control (AGC). Further it complements the capabilities already provided by the power scheduling system to make use of EMS/SCADA information, such as meter data, to perform control area energy accounting functions such as calculation of inadvertent interchange.

SoftSmiths Power system provides an integrated front-to-back transaction management solution with the ability to manage physical and financial energy transactions, and is capable of supporting standard business processes of power trading, economical & reliability resource analysis (load and resource balance), credit exposure, contract administration, scheduling, OASIS reservations, NERC tagging, checkout, invoicing, risk measurement and reporting. The system provides a single point of entry for deal capture, as well as automates and streamlines aforementioned processes.

SoftSmiths Transmission is designed for Transmission Providers, offering a solution that seamlessly integrates scheduling, tagging, transmission services, ATC management, Interchange checkout, EMS integration, energy accounting, and reporting.
