Job Description
SoftSmiths, a leading provider of
enterprise-wide software solutions for the energy
industry, seeks a detail-oriented, enthusiastic,
energetic team player to serve as a Technical
Support Analyst responsible for supporting custom
energy applications and developing and executing
test plans, test/use cases and test scripts for
SoftSmiths' commercial energy products.
Your duties will include phone
support, interpreting business application requirements,
designing, executing and maintaining test plans and test
scripts to test those requirements, as well as
documenting test execution results. You'll also be
responsible for identifying, reporting, describing and
tracking defects identified during testing.
Qualifications needed for this
opportunity include a Bachelor's degree in Computer
Science or related degree, a minimum of 2 years help
desk experience for business applications, and being
well versed in test methodology and the concepts of
unit, system and performance testing. All required
experience must be hands-on and recent.
Key Skills
Prior experience developing,
deploying, and maintaining n-tier applications
utilizing the technologies mentioned below is a
key. The successful candidate will have experience
with the following technologies and applications:
- Excellent phone, written
and oral communication skills,
- A passion for organization,
- Extensive experience in
writing and executing business application test
cases,
- Experience with Oracle
RDBMS and SQL Server 2005,
- Experience establishing and
utilizing quality assurance policies and procedures,
- Experience with Windows
2003/XP, Linux and Sun Solaris,
- Experience with Java, XML,
JSP, JavaScript, and HTML,
- Experience testing and
supporting power/gas trading, scheduling/ISO, and/or
risk management software is big a plus.
